A Search for the World’s Largest Chandelier

Ever wonder where the world's largest chandelier is located? Stand in the row – there are a lot of places that claim to have the world's largest chandelier. Here is a list of some of the world's largest chandeliers. Decide for yourself which one can claim the crown as the largest chandelier in the world.

Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

Maybe the biggest chandelier is in the world here! This crystal chandelier is about 46 meters high (picture a four-storey house!). It is about 26 meters in diameter and it comes to a weight of 8.5 tons which is close to £ 20,000! In other words, this crystal chandelier in Oman weighs more than a large (very large) elephant. It consists of 600,000 crystals. Of course, it makes sense that it should be so large … can you imagine how small an ordinary chandelier would look hanging from a 150 foot high ceiling in an 80 foot wide dome?

The light from this chandelier comes from 1,114 halogen bulbs. How would you like to be responsible for replacing these lights? In addition, all crystal chrome metal parts are plated with 24 carat gold.

Some say that this chandelier is quoted in a Guinness Book of Records, but the only records I found for Oman are the lowest death rate, and the biggest abacus!

Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

However, Guinness World Records has listed, however, the largest glass sculpture in the world. This sculpture is not what most people usually think of as a chandelier, but it still fits on the bill. This chandelier was created by renowned glass sculptor Dale Chihuly. It measures 65 feet 7 inches by 29 feet 6 inches. It's total weight? A total of £ 50,000, consisting of £ 10,000 and £ 40,000 hand-blown glass! It really is a place to see.

Melbourne Crown Casino

While the chandelier in Melbourne Crown Casino cannot compete with the world's largest chandeliers, it is widely regarded as the largest chandelier in the Southern Hemisphere. This crystal chandelier consists of 40,000 crystals. This, like Chihulyi's chandelier, is not your traditional chandelier. Certainly, it consists of crystals, but these crystals are not lit by light or light bulbs. Rather, 10,000 fiber optics have been placed among the 40,000 crystals. These fibers work with two lasers that provide interesting animation on the roof.

Sandas Casino, on the Chinese island of Macao

This fantastic, nearly 120-foot chandelier weighs an impressive 100,000 pounds.

Hollywood Casio, Shreveport, LA

This chandelier is obviously not the highest, but it really deserves to mention. It is over three floors high, but the most impressive part about this chandelier is not only its size, but the light effects coming from it. There are three very unique colored lights that the casino can influence.

Trafford Center, Manchester England

Allegedly, September 2006, comes the world's largest chandelier in the Trafford Center. No, it does not mean that any of the above chandeliers will be moved there. Rather, this Manchester shopping mall is undergoing a major rebuild, and when it is ready, the house will accommodate a new world's largest chandelier!
